I've seen a Rover 200 wheel in a Maestro (or Montego) before now... Is it not a straight swap?

However, your car is nice enough as is.

Rover Metro steering wheel is possibly more logical, it having no horn push on the centre boss (unlike Rover 414 and Rover 100's). Straight swap, also available in grey (although in Granite, not Fint so a shade out).

Yes, 1990 until 1995 you can (look better as well because Metro ones dish out rather than dish in, and are 14 inch. Wifes Metro wheel always felt better to grip than my Rover 214 16V one for some reason.

Stick with the original Maestro wheel. Anything else will look odd.

The splines and depth of the Rover steering wheel is totally different i.e. wheels for 100, 200/400 (R8) with or without airbag. However, if this has been done I for one would like to know more info on doing this because of airbag, cruise control and remote ICE reasons! Its possible you may be able to use the top half of a Rover 100 steering column to do this, then there is the problem of stalk switches rortary coupler ignition lock and cowlings.
That all sead, a Rover Metro steering wheel would go staight on, no mods. 3 types to chose from: Standard plastic type, Leather bound and Metro GTa/GTi.

I've got a wheel off a metro GTI, way more comfy than the normal wheel, and surprisingly it goes nicely to

That'll fit nicely as a straight swap, another one to look out for is a 14" MG Metro one but these are rare in scrapyards now and are invariably manky.
