Never one to accept any faddling, A82WHR gave me a run for my money this weekend. On Saturday morning I did the annual service - new oil &filter, coolant, new air filter, cleaned and gapped plugs, cleaned dizzy cap and rotor arm - all the usual things. I also changed the thermostat for the hotter one and the heater is now like standing in front of an open fire - excellent stuff and all good so far. I also changed the O-rings on the auto-choke spindle as I thought, quite correctly, that the current ones would have deteriorated. The job done, I turned the key and the damned thing wouldn't start so I checked the electrics etc and all seemed fine. Took until Sunday to figure out (with some cogitation from F153 too) that in replacing the O-rings, the fuel mix was now so rich that the engine was flooding as soon as the key was turned. A 10 minute tinker with the carb and all is well again (running better than ever, in fact). I thought I would post it up here in case anyone else experiences inexplicable deadness of engine after replacing the choke O-rings.
