Does anyone know where the resistor bank is on this model, as my heater works on the unresisted setting, but as soon as i try and set it to a resisted setting it stops the heater completly, also is this a wiring fault at all or are we looking in the wrong place.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi There,

Take a look at what Rich had to say on the following thread:

http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=263&highlight=otterstat

I think this may fix the problem. He was even kind enough to post a piccy of the fix.

Let us know if you still have problems

I'll stick something in the FAQ section in a moment.
Hope you get it sorted.

now call me crazy or original whichever sounds fine lol.

That's original , definitely. Nice one! If you can manage this, getting the rev counter working will be a piece of cake :) .

I'd say all you need to do is swap the bulbs for resistors, wire it in and locate it somewhere convenient and you've got it sorted. If you could write an article for Monstro to let us know how you did it, with pics, that would be even better!!! ;)

Its easy enough to do it "properly"! Dash off, heater unit forwards slightly, solder a link across the two terminals on the overheat cut out switch known as a "otterstat". Mended!
