This afternoon, I finally got round to sending my old 1.3L [G474 SEA] to the scrappy. My friends had told me that you have to pay them to take the car. One mate even told me he heard that it was about £50!!! So I went down with my V5 and a cheque book, and with a tear in my eye, went to scrap the 1.3.
The bloke looked at it, and cos I drove down to the scrappy, he said... " Well mate, I can only give ya 10 quid for it"
Needless to say, I was well made up! I honestly thought I would have to pay him to take it. As I waited for my Dad to pick me up, I started to wonder.... How much does everyone else get (or even have to pay) for scrapping a Maestro?

Extremely sorry to hear that you had to scrap a maestro today...
I knoew of someone a few years back having to spend £100 to get their maestro scrapped, and there wasnt much left of it either.. cuz id got all the useful bits i could think of from it first! Including the head of the A Series engine. So, very pleased to hear they paid you!
Might be worth starting a poll to see peoples answers?

I believe we had to pay £5 to scrap Michael. I'm not completely sure, as I wasnt around at the time, but that's how much we had to pay to scrap the Mini a year previously.
ive allways draged mine to the srapyard about 2 miles away never got anythink for them thought:( the last one i sent was a maestro vp with the talking dash still in it :banghead: that was about six weeks ago, still got nowt for it ,ho well
I,ve taken two to the scrappie so far and got nothing for either of them, but at least I wasn't charged anything and I have a garage full of spares for my City X.

Dad got £1200 when J373 ONC was scrapped.
The boyfriend of the tart who wrote it off didn't like the idea of the insurance companies beings involved,  and so he paid £900 for the car and £300 for 'compensation.'
