Mal,
I will post a confirmation letter to you soon, with directions to the pub, time of prize giving for the best dressed car comp, gaydon times, etc.
Just waiting to hear back on the news about Gaydon before I write an official letter about everything.
PS. Thankyou for the friendly welcome to your home the other weekend, it was good fun. Just a shame you beat us to all the autojumble bits ;)

For those of you who are still thinking about going, it was great fun last year and it was really nice to put forum usernames to faces, and cars to faces..
Just a reminder that the booking deadline is just over a month away on the 14th November. Places are filling up fast, so will be good to see you all there.

I hope you are starting to return your application forms received with the current 'Monstro' back to Linds. All the shops are now full of Christmas decorations (so early?) so you can start planning your car decorations for the coveted award of 'Best dressed Maestro/Montego'
:)
I hope last years winner gets its nose repaired after an altercation with a Golf, and is seen sporting its antlers once more.

Now updated, as the trip to Gaydon Heritage Museum is now booked, see the first post in the thread for details.
Anyone thinking of still going I will need booking forms in soon. Looks like it will be great fun again this year.

The final count is 22 of us going, I will send a confirmation letter out, along with some directions and details of Gaydon and the competition over the next few days.
We best all get our thinking caps on, and think of innovative ways to dress our cars up for the competition then.
Looking foward to it now :)

Looking foward to it now :)
Yeah, me too.
Anyone coming up the A14, past Huntingdon who would be able to give me a lift? Of course we can share fuel costs and I'm pretty good at navigating! I've booked to be going to the museum before the meal.
My Maestro is looking a little shabby at the moment so its presence will not be missed.... :(

I woudn't worry about the maestro not looking its best, if I recall last year over half the people didn't turn up in maestros, but there cars were suitably dressed anyway.
Remember folks there will be a prize for best dressed car.

Thanks for a great day, folks!
Got back sometime after 19:00, 240 miles in total. Managed to knacker on e of my speakers on the way back by listening to Pink Floyd too loudly. There was a nasty smell of burning capacitor and a nasty fuzzy sound thereafter! I think the crossover is fried :worried:
Here are a few Piccies:

Good to see you again Simon. I have a few more pictures of some of the cars, the best decorated car of the year is now quite a serious and strongly contested competition as the photos show :)

Still got to sort our pictures out, I believe our camera has the prize giving on.
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves, I know I certainly did, it was nice to catch up with people, meet a few new faces, and see the museum.
My apologies for the parking fiasco, I can assure you this will be remedied for next year, it could have been alot worse. Any venue next year will be doublechecked for plenty of parking.
Did anyone find out whose the turbo was at the museum? I didn't see any room between the wheel and the wheel arch it was lowered that much. It looked nice though.
Have to say the Metro was very well decorated and a lot of effort had gone into it  That was my favourite for the 'best dressed car'
The campervan was very pretty going back up the motorway with the christmas lights on, I am suprised we weren't pulled and yes the customary garfield was in the back. 'Garfield' just seems to get everywhere. I am surprised Tony didn't bring a long his recent aqusition, a teddy bear with maestro.org.uk on.
I have to say it was one of the longest Maestro/Montego Convoys I have been in from the Museum to the Pub, I am just glad I didn't get us lost otherwise it would have been a nightmare for us all to turn around :) I am sure we got a few doubletakes on the motorway.
The balloons through the meal, were again entertaining, however there weren't any morris minors to aim for this year.
It was nice to meet PassionWagon, and Slaphead (I still feel funny calling you, by your username, it feels like I am insulting you). Hopefully you both enjoyed yourselves and will be up for a lot more social events that are to be planned and for the forthcoming shows. It will be nice to see a black ledbury and a monty estate on the stand.

Just for you Lindsey, ;)
SlapHead = Craig(i think) Bergundy Maestro Advantage!
PassionWagon = Rob
Red Maestro Turbo belongs to Andy Beard a member of MGM Group, who came to see the museum and get a door from me.(he left with a lot more too!)
If Rob comes to Peterboghorror, then there will be two Monty estates and maybe a third if Tony gets F700 finished in time.

Craig is a.k.a. 'slaphead', also owns the Black Ledbury several of us wanted to purchase...
I thought the xmas meal was a great day out, like last year only there were larger portions this time. Great company, good journeys and a good time had by all. :)
I managed to notch up 370 miles, I think this is the most anyone will have managed on the day?
I'll make sure we have some parking at the venue next year, as the xmas meal now falls under my remit as Social Secretary.

I had a very good time. It’s always nice to meet up like this. The trip to the Museum was a nice addition, not only to see the exhibits, but to look at other peoples Maestro's and Montego's in the daylight. The parking at the Pub in Stratford-Upon-Avon was interesting, but I suppose we should be thankful we ate in a Beefeater with some character, not some modern building, and that we got to walk through quite a picturesque town rather than in a large car park.
I still cant believe all you Scrooge’s voted my car as 'Most Festive' The token piece of tinsel round the grille wasn’t worthy of so many votes!
Tony, the Club teddy made the trip home with me for some reason, stowed away in the boot, so he is enjoying his time for now on this side of the Pennines.

Don't worry,it's not an insult - i've been called worse things over the years! I must get 'round to filling my profile in,that way forum users wouldn't have to explain who i really am.It was nice for me to meet everyone too and yes,i do hope to attend more events in 2005.I'm glad you all enjoyed the dinner, sorry i couldn't attend - maybe next year! ;)
