Its White. It has 106,000 miles on the clock. The MOT ran out last year.It had a new head gasket 18 months ago along with a water pump (you see the connection). The engine is relly sweet. The gearbox is fine. It had a new exaust fitted just before it was taken off the road. In fact mechanically it is great. The reason it is not being driven is that it needs some welding.
Under the plastic bits lurks both rusted sills (inner and outer) and rear wheel tubs. There may be more but I haven't got the means to get under it for a good look.
I was going to get it done over time. I have had the car for about eight years and it was my fathers before that. We were told that it was a Tickford but I get the impression from this site that it is a rover with a body kit (still don't really know). It has a full leather interior, power stearing, electric windows all round, electric sun roof and alloys.
When it was road worthy it was very quick. I have fond memories of leaving behind my brother-in-laws Porsch 924.
The reason it has to go is we are soon th be leaving the country.

The rear bumper and side-skirts are Wood and Pickett, Tickford never made a bodykit for the Montego. Is this car a GSi executive? I'd like to see pics of the seats please.

There is no mention of executive anywhere but it is the GSi.
We are in the Sudbury area in Suffolk if anyone is interetsed in it.http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1388&stc=1http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1389&stc=1[IMG]http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1390&stc=1

Is this in the slightest bit unusual?

I don't belieeeeeeeeve it! We've found one. They are very rare, but I wouldn't expect it to go for a super high price, perhaps similar to a Monty turbo of the same condition. I'd love the car, but I'm restoring an MG Maestro Turbo at the moment. Someone please buy the car!

If you have trouble getting rid i'll take it off your hands, i'm only 30 miles down the road. Looks a bit rotten to be honesy but could be worth saving.

Wow! I loved that interior in the brochure pics already. That looks brilliant! The same style of interior sold me to my Rover 216 GSi some years ago :) And these seats are very comfy...

Ok. So now I know its worth fixing it up. As I said earlier, the plan was to get it back to good condition.
I asked a few months ago if anyone could tell me of a place in this area to get the welding done. The rest of the jobs I can do.
The rust you see on it is on the surface and really is not to much of a problem. The engine and running gear are all fine.
I may now store it and get it done on our return to the country.
Another of the reasons that stopped us last time was that we did not know whether financially it would be a viable project. Any ideas of a compleated value would be most welcome. Also any ideas of where to get the parts would be good.

Sills can be purchased from many online body panel suppliers.

If you do decide to part with the car, I would be extremely interested. :)

Inner sills are part of the floor pan and not a seperate panel, rear wheel tubs??? not quite sure what you mean by those, outer sills are available from rover, pattern part sills arent worth a toss if your gonna do the job properly.

Bit late this, only just seen it. Must have been out of the country not to have seen this.
Do you still have it? if so how much do you want for it?
