Who is planning on going then?

The Campervan and the VDP will be going this year, our first trip to this particular show.

Apparently it is a 2 day event, and there is camping avaliable. So we might be going down on the Saturday and make a weekend of it.

If you visit the website (http://www.greenwoodsexhibitions.com/classic-motor-shows-home-page.htm) and contact the organisers they will probably be able to help.

That's what I did, they e-mailed me saying I could pay on the day.

I'll be there.
Zoe will be too.

I'll be there, complete with Maestro which is now going stronger than ever after another 700+ miles over the weekend.

I'm coming in my rapidly dissolving Maestro. I put my finger through the tailgate today. (Brand new 'gate in my garage though...)

I'm contemplating bringing the LX, if I can get to the bottom of it's indifference.....! Should be an emotional reunion for Dave, as it hasn't changed a bit since it left him all those days ago
As for indifference, i'll service it on Saturday, it might have it's MOT then too..... :horror:

Ricky.

P.S. Are the club having a stand (possibly a stupid question!), and if so, how do you get on it??

Ricky,

There will be a club stand there, with regards to getting on it I believe Dean emailed the organisers to doublecheck that it would be okay with them. (Link further up the page)

Sorry I can't be much more help, as this is my first time attending this particular event.

Will be nice to see you there.

Thanks Lindsey, I have just managed to make sense of what it says (i'm tired, and it was my fourth attempt at reading it!), only problem is now I'm going to have to give the LX a good going over with a chamois and a dustbuster! Well if you have that red I suppose you have to flaunt it don't you ;)

Hopefully, barring disaster, will see you there with my usual assortment of mates!

Ricky.

P.S. Anyone else from round these fair parts attending?

Just thought I'd take the opportunity to say that I did quite enjoy myself today, and it was great to put some faces and personalities to forum ID's, I was a bit worried that it would be frowned upon for making the place look untidy (or should that be me making the place look untidy? ), but Dave was certainly happy to see it, as was everyone else it seemed! Just wish I had bought a camera, so that I could a)take a picture from the autojumble section looking back over towards the stand (the LX was rather prominent from that angle!), b) have an overall picture of all the cars on the stand and c) a pic of Lindsey's VP so that I can have something to work towards when I need to remember what an R series engine is supposed to look like!
Again, many thanks, hope to see you all again (and meet many others) at an event soon, possibly even in the MG (which has now turned from a summer to a winter project!)

Thanks,

Ricky.

My appologies for not being there today. I was supposed to come back of holiday today (sunday) but did in fact come back the day before. After driving from Normanday to the Isle Of Wight, I really couldnt face getting up at the crack of dawn and motoring up to Knebworth today.

Well that was the last show of the season, doesn't the summer go quickly (and it seems as though we're still waiting for it to begin!!). Thanks to all for coming along and good to meet you Ricky, we actually put on quite a respectable show I thought despite the weather. Quite a few comedy moments ensued with 3 or 4 of us chasing various parts of the stand around the field

As far as pictures go I've finally got up to date with the reviews section of the site and you'll find them by clicking on the relevant link here:

http://www.maestro.org.uk/events/reviews.html

Note that other events from the summer are also covered, obviously with more in-depth reports forthcoming in the club magazine. I've used a few pictures that aren't my own on these pages but tried to credit them, hoping that their originators won't mind. I've also linked to other contributors' photographs from some of the events so please try to avoid taking them offline or moving them if possible otherwise the links won't work.

Another great day out, even if we did turn up a shade early ;)

The VP behaved itself on the 230 mile round trip, didn't miss a beat apart from starting problems in the morning, hopefully Dan has worked his magic on that!

Nice to see people again, even if it was a bit damp on occasions.

The next time the VP goes to a show it'll be looking a bit better (hopefully!) going to get a few rust patches done and give it a good Waxoyling, by that time the DLX will be making it's show debut.

Looking forward to next year already :)

Cheers

Dean.

Knebworth was good fun for me. There is certainly quite a few different cars to look at, and I don't think I have ever seen so many Deloreans in the same spot.

I also got a chance to introduce myself to members of the PVEC (Police Vehicle Enthusiasts Club) in the hope of finding some more information out about George.

We also managed to find some maestro parts in the autojumble, which was good :)

In that first picture we are decieved into believing that our venerable chairman is sprouting a bushy new head of hair, starting at the crown and moving forwards.

Lyndsey, your hard work and dedication in achieving that level of gleam on your Maestro is an example to us all. If it didn't keep raining every day, I would be compelled to give my car a good polish as it is looking very sad and dull at the moment.
