There is a 2 litre Maestro "D.I" on ebay for about £40
It has electric windows and cental locking but the vendor doesn't know if it has power steering. Do any of you clever chappies know if it does??
Thanks
Nath
P.S. Quick reply needed as there is only a couple of days left to go. I only want the steering rack

I was quoted £105 exchange for a PAS Rack for my now-defunct Vanden Plas Montego, so the whole car has to be worth £40 IF it has PAS (that's a big IF!). Then you can strip any spares you might need, as the cars get rarer in the scrappers, such as the rest of the PAS gear...
I've just spent about 20 hours stripping my VDP down, with RDGelder's help - I'm sorted for all the non-mechanical spares I'll ever need!

Well, that's £40 and goodness-knows how much times saved! You've got to "be in it to win it!", you'll find what you want soon.
I can give you the details of the Motor Factor that offered me the reconditioned PAS Rack for £105 if you want - send me a Private Message. Postage isn't TOO expensive (£10ish for up to 30kg tops)! Is your existing PAS Rack worn, or are you wanting one 'from scratch'? The surcharge, I think was over £50 but my VDP has a PAS Rack that is worn u could use if you're stuck for a surchargeable item.
Hope this helps.

No I want one from scratch, I think I will wait untill I find a red maestro with power steering and a decent set of red doors and a boot lid.

OK. I know where you're coming from with the 'decent panels' comments! Anyone got any decent azure blue over grey off side doors (I need both!)???

There is a white Montego 2.0i petrol countryman down the auction tonight with no tax or mot and a sold as seen sticker plastered all over the windscreen. It should go for peanuts (they normally do).
It has power steering, remote central locking, electric front windows and an electric sunroof. It also has nice wood venner tops on the door panel.
I read somewhere that the door panels (Front and back) of a montego would fit a maestro. Is this true and what other bits would I be able to scroung off of it to put on my maestro.
Thanks for any help

There is a red Maestro on the classifieds of this site. It has power steering and no rust and ... it's an MG Maestro Turbo!

Glad you found it - I have seen that car and it is in excellent condition after being lovingly restored. And he's only asking £1850 for it which I think is a good price.
I expect it will be at MGM 2003 next week and you could see it!

So if the car you're after doesn't have p.s. whose is the one in the picture above, and what it the point?
That one does. The yellow arrow points to the reservoir.
Derek.
