Automatic gearbox for turbo diesel maestro?

I have just bought a k reg Maestro with a 2 litre turbo diesel engine and manual box is it possible to fit an automatic gearbox from another model and if so which model do I need and how big a job will it be? Thanks in advance.Fraser

I don't think there ever was an auto turbo diesel. the auto box from a petrol 2 litre would physically fit ,(I think) but the totally different engine characteristics would mean that it would either have a short life or would be undrivable or both. I think you are stuck with the manual box for now.
