I'm definatly coming, and would like my car on the MMOC stand, what ever it may be! I also have a friend who'll be coming in an Efi, would he be welcome?

Everyone's welcome - as long as you've got a Maestro or a Montego. I think the MG'M' Group will have a stand too. Let's see if we can put on an even better display than last year. It might be worth clarifying the position with the event organisers over bringing an unroadworthy car [Montyboy] but I don't think you'll get any problems.

For those not sure whether or not they're coming until the last moment you can turn up and pay on the day, otherwise I'd recommend sending off for a pass now if you've not already done so. All enquiries 01476 572124.

I hope to have the world's slowest MG Maestro back to its old self again in good time for this...

If at all, would be coming in the black MG. (When it's back in one peice! :banghead: )

As I am unsure, I will most probably just turn up on the day and pay.

I'll be there! Don't know yet which car, but I'll be in charge with the austin-rover.co.uk stand again...

See you there!

I'll be there (*touches wood*) in a camper van and the missus will be in her VDP.

I will be there in the Vanden Plas, and hopefully the campervan. George (ex-police car) will be giving it a miss this year, he is due for some extensive restoration, police lights and siren. If we actually apply ourselves he may make it next year, complete with nearly all new bodywork.

I'm definatly trying my best to have some body work repairs done to Ledders before Peterborough so he can be even more sparkling than normal.

Well, you will be there in spirit, and if I can wrangle the finances, your handiwork will be too! ;)
My mate would like to go to a 'proper' autojumble, he was very unimpressed with the Spring event at Beaulieu, where it seemed every part was for an MGB and one exhibitor remarked that a 1984 MG Maestro was "too modern for us".....! Did spot someone had a cheesegrater for sale though
Now the dilemma: if I go, I'll have to leave the cosmetics for later, or leave the Maestro at home, and suffer the journey in a Vauxhall Corsa  :horror:
Decisions, decisions..... ;)

Ricky.

It's weird how a 20 year old Maestro isnt seen as a classic, yet a 1984 Mk2 Golf would be!

Same goes for the Mazda MX-5. Thats 15 years old but its been a classic ever since it came out!

We'll convince them one day

If they are having one of these then I'll be loading my Toyota with my spares again as the Coombe Abbey meet was fairly successful for me. The thing is I have all these surplus bits that are taking up space in my garage and I need the space just as much as I need the money. :p

Time Warp Maesty is at the MOT station as we speak. Very anxious guy typing this! If she gets through in time, she will be making her maiden voyage to the BL rally in 17 years.

I'll be there too, will bring 3, MG 1600, VDP and 2.0 GSD Maestros....

I'm hoping to bring a trailer load of bits, both new and used. Anybody need new leather 3 spoke Monstro steering wheels? Mink, Bitter Choc and the dark blue colour I can never remember.....

Montyboy, did I miss you at MGM? I can still bring that front wing if you need it?

Yeah, I missed pretty much everything at MG M as I was only there about an hour due to various logistical nightmares. Was not a good day. Yes I am still interested in the wing. Can you remind me which side it s for? Ta.

I will be going. Will pay on the day. Don't know which stand to go with though. Any ideas? Anyone want my car on their stand? Got a '88 black Monty Turbo.

I'll be there, in the green VP

What time is entry into the rally? I'm arriving on the day.

Is there any chance of putting my car on the club stand?

Cheers

Dean.

All Maestros/Montegos are welcome on our stand. You have to take a compulsory leaflet about the club tho', to try and persuade you of the merits of becoming a member ;)

Ed
29th July 2004, 12:09
Still terribly worried about Time Warp Maesty's ability to make the trip but I am going to give it my best shot. If she does make it, you'll have to excuse the silver duck tape!!! Its a temporary bodge to make her look pretty from a distance.

Is there anyone going up the A14 on the day?

Dean

Good to hear it :D One less person to persuade ;)

Not quite so sure what you find hysterical tho 'GGT  Perhaps you could share it with all of us? ;) :p

Also a member. What time should I arrive to get on the stand etc?

Dean
30th July 2004, 17:24
So then....

What time should I get there so I can get my car on the stand?

How much is it to get in? I'm bringing 'er indoors too.

Will it be clearly signposted, the missus is navigating, got a feeling i'm going to get lost in deepest darkest Peterborough :(

Cheers

Dean.

M170 is freshly waxoyled and raring to go. I'll just have to see if I am... It'll be on impulse if I turn up anyhow as I may have to work instead. Have fun if I don't turn up all the same.
