Driving home tonight I got a phonecall, so I pulled into a layby to answer it.. When I restarted the diesel lump the oil light wouldn't go out. I had to get it recovered home.. This is most annoying as I was supposed to be camping in it tomorrow and then next week touring scotland in it.

I tried a new pressure switch with no joy. I tried a new filter and oil change, but the new filter won't fill up. I've dropped the sump and the strainer looks ok to me.

I thought about the pressure relief valve as it happend so quickly and there is no metal in the sump.

Anyone got any ideas before it gets scrapped?

Sounds like the oil pump isn't working if the filter isn't filling up.
This is driven of the camshaft, so I fail to see how it could have stopped
working. Let us know how U get on.
PS I've seen some people fill the filter with fresh oil before putting it on
don't know why maybe to stop air locks or something.

Not sure whats wrong with your van but if you get round to touring Scotland your more than welcome to drop by for a few beers :) I'm in central Scotland.

We have full mechanical support in case you might need it.
