Just curious to know if anyone has/knows the whereabouts of any replica Austin Rover stickers such as "Now we're motoring". I'm interested in sticking one in each of my side windows or tailgate.:D

Doesn't the MMOC sell these?

Fantastic stickers. I have one in the back of my MG Maestro 1600 and it looks fantastic. The MMOC stickers look totally genuine and give that one-owner look to any Maestro.

I wonder whether they are going to recreate the "Supercover" sticker that goes under the rear-view mirror and the Phillips Autocode stickers for later cars? I'd love one of those to go with my Phillips R681 in my Turbo.

Glad you found them!!

The "Now we're Motoring" stickers were exact copies of the original provided by Zoe. I can have any sticker reproduced, but need an unused original in order to do it. The Philips radio ones have been on my mind, but I have never found a new one, maybe if someone has one, they could send it my way??

In the early brochures a full size Supercover sticker is visible and I have a good condition copy of one of these. Could this be used to reproduce a sticker?

Could Phillips be approached for the original artwork of their stickers? Would the Phillps stickers need adhesive as they go on windows that slide up and down?

Martin Woods supplies reproductions of these ads. It was featured in the June 1989 edition of CAR magazine as a three page advert and in some Sunday supplements as a two page ad.

A chance to get some of those A+ stickers that they used to put on the rocker cover on the 1.3 would be good.

Also that sticker (if it is a sticker) that fits on the air cleaner which says something like A+ electronic control

I would recommend that you take the cover off an early 1.3 in a scrap yard and swap the whole cover - as you know they unclip really easily. The sticker is a stiff metal affair and they clean up really well. If however you try to peel off the sticker it will twist and go all out of shape and you'll never get it glued onto your cover.

So even if the one you find is covered in oil a quick wash with soapy water will get it looking like new. I have noticed that at some point Austin Rover stopped using this big sticker, presumably because it was cheaper to leave it off and most cars had ECUs by the late eighties, so it wasn't worth shouting about. Austin Maestro 1.6 models had the same part with R-Series written on them but the S-Series never did and neither did MG1600s.

Wow! That would be great, I havent been able to find one, and all my peeling attemps have been useless! So long as I get permission, I will look into getting some of them reproduced!

I have an unused "Protected by Rover vehicle Security Systems" sticker but these were updated stickers and applied to 1990 on cars. Still the same credit card sized style though for the front door window glass.

I was thinking of the Supercover sticker the other day, but figured that it wouldn't be of much use on a top tint windscreen...

I have seen before, an Austin Rover type security sticker, which had a blank in which went over the security etch in the window glass. When i tried to remove it, it broke up though!

At least it seems there will be one customer! I doubt it would cost that much to reproduce, so not much to buy afterwards!

Id buy a set of repro rover security stickers and a set of repro philips stickers for my car.

The problem with those types of sticker are that they are super sticky to stop them peeling off when the windows go up and down and so they dont like to be removed

do you need to ask permission off philips or other clup officials to get them reproduced?

As soon as you get the go ahead ill get the sticker to you.

I may well write to Phillips, for two reasons, number one in case they have a surpluss they can let us have, and number to to subtly ask if its ok. Even if they said no, I would be inclined to do it "privately" as my car needs these stickers! Its needs a lot of other things to, but thats in another thread!
