Further to my last post (HOW DO I UNDO BOLTS!!!!!!!!) we got the full engine out but didnt have time to open it up.
However for quickness I used to get rid of the power steering by simply removing the belt as power steering on the track gives very little feedback through the wheel, so is not needed.
Now the engine is out again we have full access to the power steering so is it possible to drain the system, remove all the pipes and hoses and "run the steering rack dry of fluid", will this work?
Other 2 options are (1)Remove the unit/pipes/hoses and "plug" the steering rack, or (2) get a non-power assisted steering rack and fit that.
What would be the best way to go here and the least likely to cause future problems?
Cheers
