The Montego (well, Mk I at least) uses an H4-type bulb (reference number R472 I think?) so I would asume the 1989 Van uses the same.

If you go in Halfords, they have books in there (attached to the shelves) that will confirm what bulb you need, but go to a Car Spares place on the High Street (as opposed to Halfords) for the bulb as it will be quite a lot cheaper... ;) and the service will probably be a lot better as well...

Yup it is a standard H4 one. I'd recommend ring premium ones which are cheap enough and a bit brighter than normal ones (60% they claim)
