I've had a contact from a place called Tyron Remoulds, based in Lockerbie, Scotland. They have 26 Montego tyres, size 180/65 R365TD, to Michelin TDX-E pattern. The company want £10 +carriage +VAT per tyre, which I think is an excellent deal. If you're interested, drop me an email or private message and I'll give you contact details.

Are these the ones that will give a Maestro the correct rolling radius when mounted on some 15" Monty cross-spokes. If so, then I may well want some in the very near future.

Correct rolling radius on MAESTRO 15" alloys (NOT monty) is 185/55/R15.
For the wider monty alloys i'd guess: 195/50/R15 and 205/50/R15 fit and give very close RR's.

I need 4, to go with the VDP wheels I will be fitting this summer (after renovation).
These are the infamous 'metric tyres' that people have bemoaned on this very Forum (it is usually cheaper to get a set of Alloys and new tyres than to buy a set of metric tyres) so this is very good value. I mentioned that Colway used to do these tyres as remoulds, but I thought they'd gone bankrupt...
Maria, I've sent you a Private Message about this.

Hi " the other Rich"
I have x4 Metric alloys (tatty)from an early M.G/Vanden Plas that have very good/excelent Michelin tyres - approx 7mm and 6mm of tread on. I am looking for £40 for the lot, let me know if you are interested?
Thanks Biglad.:)

Biglad, have sent you a Private Message.
Well, I got the details off Maria, then phoned the chap at Tyron Remoulds on tuesday morning (24th). Most helpful, got a 'pro-forma' Invoice today by post, four tyres (remoulds) will cost £60.04 delivered (by TNT courier). Will post my cheque this morning...
Thanks, Maria! It's good to see the Club being taken seriously (have I said this before?).

Further to this, my cheque has arrived at the supplier and the tyres will be shipped on monday (7th). Only thing is, TNT will only deliver to a trade address or I will have to pick the tyres up from the nearest depot (Ramsbottom, nr Bury).Have given my mate's motorcycle shop in Bury as the delivery address (I won't advertise the address for fear of invoking Jonathan's wrath).

Well, the tyres have arrived... before my mate's motorcycle shop opened yesterday morning. The TNT man left them in a neighbouring shop but could only just get them through the door (they were tied together with baling twine). They look very good and I am looking forward to getting them fitted in the next month or so.
Considering the tyres were meant to be shipped on monday, a journey of less than 24hrs is commendable, and the chap at Tyron was extremely pleasant and helpful as well. I think he deserves a nomination for 'Tradesperson of the Year'.

I had two new (not remould) tyres fitted to my MG1600 last weekend. £50 including valve, balance, disposal of old tyre. And they were in the unusual 175/65/R14 size for the cheesegrater alloy.
So if you are in Bristol try Cabot Tyres in Totterdown (0117 9775793)

Unusual 15-20 years ago, now very common, as fitted to Astra's, Escort's etc.

Well I never - further confirmation that the MG Maestro is light years ahead of its time. That explains why I can buy new tyres for peanuts for my car. Might go for 185/60/14 next time although the car handles brilliantly and has no power steering it is nice to have slightly thinner tyres on the cheesegraters.

Yup same size as Rover 200 too.
Will cheese graters fit my rover 200 too?

All Maestro and Montego wheels have the same stud pattern (except van) so if your current Maestro wheels fit your Rover 200 then so will cheesegraters. I think however that they will not fit.
If you want new alloys for your Rover 200, Stewart Flett has some of the lattice style 14" Rover 416 GSi wheels for sale. You can contact him with this e-mail address - stewart@belmotors.co.uk - they are £25 per wheel for brand new genuine Rover alloys that are still in the original boxes.

Yes but that was 4 years ago, if they didn't sell them I doubt they're still in business!

The eBay link I posted above is still current though and at approximately £118 for a pair plus P&P to UK they are pricy but not if you're desperate sometimes you have to pay a bit more.
