evening all

got me a replacement gearbox, but according to jim at the garage its needs some new drive shaft seals? its an efi box thats going in it. are the seals different between the turbo and efi boxes? or do they vary in just the efi boxes?
hopefully jim will be able to get some as they'll get to him within half a day but i said id ask on here to check on the variations in the seals. if he cant though any ideas where i can get them from? or anyone got any spare i can purchase?

any help much appreciated as always, reeeally want no.9 back on the road now - sick of driving my mums rover 414 about

cheers

You want the rubber seals most likely (same across all the PG1's).

There are two types of seals - early cars (ours) used rubber ones. Later cars (200/400/etc) used metal faced seals. The inner CV joints are different to suit the metal seals, however you can use the rubber seals with either type of inner cv joint.

So if you get rubber seals you'll be sure they'll fit.

They are usually available on e-bay as sets, but also your local xparts dealers will have them too.

Last time I went to my local Rover place they sent me to Rimmers so they might be your best call.
