failed on HC..LIMIT WAS 12OOPPM..my reading 2808ppm
i told him to stick his emmision test equipment where the sun dont shine and walked out...:mad:
never failed emissions in 12 years from new

Easy to fail an emissions test even on lpg. Chances are you have a missfire at idle to get readings that high.

it was perfect on idle test...but went to 2800 at 2000revs...trouble is this garage have a bad reputation for inventing stories

I presume it wasn't a maestro or montego as they only get tested at idle speed.
If you watched it on their test kit then chances are it is genuine as you can't easily fake the results during the test.

I would have thought that the later 'cat' cars would have to have the 2000 rpm test??

Lindz's J plate one didn't.
And 12 years from new makes it made in 1996 (assuming the first 3 years without MOT). Therefore not an M car.

because it was one of these multi nationals Formula one places and a mechanic there would do an easy job there and then if i needed anything doing...trouble is i didnt know that the MOT guy was abit of a fascist.

it is a meastro without cat..you couldnt watch the test,have to sit in the waiting room..these guys are on commission...my own fault should have gone somewhere else

Ive been going to the same place for at least 15 years because the MOT guys are very fair and even let you go round with them as I have known them for so long :) but I guess in vosa's eyes this is all wrong :censored:

my ledbury saloon passed easily..looks like the idiot who did my van was testing it like a new car and knew full well...thats why he said if i didnt like it then **** off somewhere else...so i did without paying:p
