Got a droning wheel bearing on my newly accquired Monty TD estate (L-reg 160k, (but engine only 60k) 7-seats, year's MOT, little rust, £250) and am breaking up the Maestro which preceeded it.

Now, I put a new wheel bearing in the Maestro on the same side last summer, and what I need to know is whether the hubs are identical so I can swap 'em over before I say goodbye to the remains of the Maestro.

Oh, and will the head off a non-turbo diesel fit a turbo?

Not sure about the hubs but I think it'll be a striaght swap if the brakes are the same (i.e. ventilated or not ventilated)

The Turbo diesel head does fit on the diesel engine as my camper has got one, however I'm not sure it they are quite identical but I think they are.

Oooh, I hadn't thought about ventilated discs - did the diesels have 'em? I've not explored my car thoroughly enough yet.

I had the wheel off the other day so I could take off the access panel so I could replace the lower rear hose from the pump and didn't notice ventilated discs. Someone had kindly left the clip so it could be reached like this instead of having to take the whole engine mount off. Still got a leak somewhere - oddly it only leaves a puddle overnight. I think it's the thermostat housing gasket. Must investigate before it starts to lose more than a pint a week.

I think the later turbo diesels had ventilated discs but I'm not sure myself. I should really check on mine but it is cold and dark out there :D
