Done a search and found a couple of posts similar to this but all with the 1.3 or 1.6 engined maestros.
I have a maestro turbo that hasnt been driven since saturday evening as i was removing the oil breather system to give it a clean.
Refitted it all today and drove down to work and theres a LOAD of free travel in the clutch pedal, id guess about half the travel does nothing. Means the biting point is right on the floor and it was a struggle to engage a gear sometimes. Its only about half a mile to work and by the time i released what the problem was (was half asleep) i was most of the way there.
Im pretty sure the clutch is good, ie doesnt slip with the handbrake on, but will double check later. When fully depressed the clutch pedal only returns to the top of the point where it starts to function ie lower than the brake pedal.
Im hoping i can just adjust it or will i need a new cable? Very very skint atm so if i can adjust it so it works temporarily that'll do
