One of the benefits of owning a Maestro or Montego is the economy. But what average Miles per gallon do you get? Let's compare!

At the moment it is impossible to say. When F170 GGT was first driven in my posession, it did 40 miles on a 1/4 tank of LRP.

mine does about 34 mpg running to and from work ( 20 miles a day some in trafic jams)

the best has been about 45 mpg, this included 2 long motorway drives as i remember.

i think im going to get it tuned up (i might try rover) its running a bit too rich at the moment and the cold idle speed is a bit too high, ive learnt from past experience that trying to tune it myself without proper kit is a non starter.

Mine varies from about 30mpg on my daily commute to about 40 on a longish motorway haul unless I really cane it (in which case it is about 30 again!) I am certain that my fuel mix is a touch rich though, so I could save a bit of fuel by making her run leaner and thus more in tune.

My Monty 1600 does 27mpg in the winter, 31mpg in the summer (both almost exclusively short runs of 4 miles each way) but gave 43mpg on a long fast run to London and the South last summer (580 miles in 3 days in hot weather). I use Shell Optimax with Millers' Superblend 2000, but used another brand of 'Super Plus' with Millers when refilling in East Grinstead.

How's about that then? Not a patch on my Mini, that gave 45mpg day to day and 65-70mpg on a run at 60mph, though...

The other other Rich.

My dad used to drive an old Daimler Double Six in the '90s (SIII 5.3 V12)and that would do 1 mpg on the computer with your foot hard pressed down. Needless to say it was every bit as fast as a Maestro Turbo but running costs were ridiculous.
