I am having serious problems tracing a fuel leak from my injector pump. It has now got to the stage where a small pool of fuel can be seen on the ground if the engine is running while stationary. The fuel appears to be coming from the bottom of the pump which seems odd. All the pipes and connections seem dry. The bottom of the pump is really hard to get at but if I dry area underneath it soon becomes wet again with no evidence of fuel anywhere else. This seems like a strange one but perhaps someone has more of a clue than I do? Its a NASP (non - turbo) engine by the way.

First of all I'm not an expert so I'm not sure if I can help.

Was anything done to the engine lately? Because of the high presure's it could be a very tiny leak. Is the motor still running smoothly?

Check all the unions and pipes on the pump. A very tiny leak can soon mount up at high pressure. Also check the start stop solonoid and the cold start advance mechanism as they both bolt onto/into the pump housing.

Thanks guys, I'm gona gunk the entire area this afternoon to help trace the leak. The enine still seems to run quite well but when coming back to idel (ie when changing gear) it shudders a little and feels like it will stop but then recovers.
