please can anyone tell me if the van struts and springs are the same on the 2.0d saloon (1991) if so i take it they are slightly uprated for these heavier models? where is the best place /price for purchasing ? thanks guys

Think they are exactly the same.

ebay is your best bet, they keep changing all the time sometimes there will be a glut of dampers for one model then it seems the week after ther will be none for it but loads for another. Just the way it goes.
