All Montego and Maestro wheels are fully interchangeable, so no special adaptor required. Naturally you will need the right nuts as the nuts used to clamp-on steel wheels don't fit alloy wheels etc. Most Maestro and Montego alloys were 13", 14" and 15" so no special tyres needed.

I got some wheel nuts for my MG Montego alloys from my local scrap yard off a Rover 200, I think most of the Rover models use the same type of wheel nuts and at 50p each, can't complain.

The correct nuts have a floating connical washer pressed onto them and the ones for the Xspokes have a crome trim over the hex of the nut

Hi Dave from what you have said they dont sound like the ones for alloys, The alloy ones are pretty esy to come by, any 90s r200 with alloys has the same nuts

I seem to remember getting a set from these people several years ago. If the ones on this page are the same, they should fit.

The ones in the picture have lost the plated cap that fits over the hexagon. These caps can fall off if prone to abuse from tyre bay ratchet guns. The circular hole serves no functional purpose except perhaps as the tapping hole for the screw thread at the other end that goes onto the studs.
