In shock! For those of us not registered to the metro forum can you let us know what has happened?

Would be good to have a MMOC tribute.

The only details we have is what Sean has already posted.

As he passed away in April, It would be a given that the funeral has already taken place.

On the Metro forum , were just sorry to hear he's gone.

Much too young.

It is with a great deal of sadness that i have to report that Dean
died on April 10th 2010.
Many of you will have met him at BL Day 2009 when he parked his Kingfisher
Blue Knightsbridge next to me.
I found him to be a shy person and this was confirmed by his sister Mandy Proudler
who contacted me to ask that i pass on the news to the Club.

Although only 30, Dean was a complete Metro nut and, at the time of his death,
owned 11 Metros, 2 Maestros and a lot of spares.
Once his estate is settled, his cars will be offered first, as he would have wished,
to Members of MOC with the proviso that they are restored
as he would have eventually done himself.
The cars are listed under on his signature but please respect this sad time by
making any serious enquiries to myself by pm.

Photos were not Dean's thing.. he even moved out of shot when i took a pic at BL Day.
However Mandy has sent the picture below :
R.I .P Dean.

The picture is on the homepage of the MetroOwners club site

All messages of condolence posted here, MMM and on the Metro forum
will be passed on to Mandy his sister for the family to retain.

Dean's collection of BL Tin consisted of 13 Metros and 2 Maestros
and i, along with Robert Ivins, have valued the cars for probate.
They will shortly be released for sale so if anyone here would like details
of the two maestros, please contact me admin@metroownersclub.org.

B60 LKA Maestro VP 1598 Green
K264 RAB Maestro DLX 1994 Red/Grey

A scrap value only will be asked for each car as Dean would have wanted them to help restore other Maestros.
A single collection day will be arranged early August with all cars having
to be trailered away from the Derby area.

I'm shocked. I got to know Dean at BL Day over the past 5 years or so, he was a great guy and will be sadly missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

Dean was a true enthusiast, and a gent. His appetite for BL tin was matched only by his resourcefulness in finding somewhere to store them all! Always courteous and friendly at events and a true part of the BL family.

He will be missed and my thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Just a few memories from me.

I remember when Dean and his girlfriend came to their first BL Show. I seem to remember Dean even wrote an article for Monstro (when Dan was editing it) reviewing the event. Regalia was also promptly purchased, and you would always see him in his white MMOC t-shirt. The number of cars in his ownership seemed to grow over the years. First the diesel, then the opaline green VDP then the MG Metro, and then the Metro fleet rapidly expanded.

This is a big shock, I remember Dean bringing his DLX to MGSD '05 and BL Rally, and more recently seeing him in his metros.

He was a friendly genuine enthusiast who will be greatly missed.
Condolences to his family and friends.

IIRC he was a coach driver by trade?
