...literally! :rage:

Due to the warm weather recently (at last!!) I decided to open the car windows before the dashboard could make like a banana and split.

On entering the car, I was rather shocked to discover that dangling from the top of the windscreen were lots of tiny orangey spiders all quite happily at home, sunbathing! :horror:

So after clearing my face of cobwebs, I got out the mini hoover and sent the little sods to their new home. I fear there may be quite a few more than I thought still living behind the headlining, as only an hour later, the scene was reconstructed by more of the little buggers.

They're only little, but there's so many of them it's worrying as to what's going on up there. It's not the occasional spider you may get (they're a lot bigger! :banghead: ).

Should I take down the headlining, or should I just let them move out of their own accord?

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

eeeeeewwwwww!!!!!!!

I wonder if any of the insect killing stuff would have any effect? maybe open the door, spray a shed load in there and close the door (always facing the opposite way mind)

Whats above the material? is it fabric on plastic? Maybe it would all just sink the the seats and floor without effect if it is?

Other than that, I can tell you, I'm glad it's you taking the headlining out and not me..... There might be one big enough to eat you up there <shudder>

Having had another thought, a spider isn't an insect is it? never mind I think it still works. Jo is petrified of spiders and uses this stuff sometimes (from about ten foot if it's big enough  . Other times the mop works wonders :) It's one of them flat bottom things with a sheet attached.

eeeeeww hundreds of flat orange spiders :horror:

You might be right about the big one. These little one's look like they've just hatched! :banghead:

The back of the headlining is just thick card. Not plastic like in 'GGT. I really don't want to take down the headlining, but it may have to be done if they keep appearing.

Speaking of flat orange spiders, I picked off some that had been squashed on the door seal.

They must have been in there since before I got the car, as I have not left it anywhere where they could have come from. It's not even been stood on the driveway long either, and it's always kept clean inside and out.

Try copious amounts of fly spray, it should have the same effect.

Possible. Do your cars provide home to many spiders on your back garden?

I've had slugs in the cars before now. :horror:

Anyway, I think the hoover shifted most of them. However, I did find more cobwebs in there today... :banghead:

Wonder if the big one's still in there somewhere... ;)

:horror:
