Hi,
Maybe any computer experts reading this can help with a problem that has just surfaced on my computer. Despite setting my homepage to www.yahoo.com in my internet options, everytime i switch on my computer the homepage has mysteriously changed to another one. Are there any settings i could change to get round this? or will i have to reload Windows? Perhaps I have inadvertently downloaded a virus. Any advice will be gratefully received! :banghead:

You almost certainly have some form of virus and/or spyware. I suggest you search the net for Grisoft's AVG which is a good free antivirus program, and also for Lavasoft's Ad-Aware to remove any spyware. You might also consider a firewall like ZoneAlarm.

I had something recently that set itself to search to some mad site, and there was a registry setting which reset this every time I rebooted my computer. I'd guess it's something similar.

Hi all,
Just browsing the net there seems to be a site called www.cyberwalker.net that gives some tips on rescuing a hijacked browser. I haven't had a chance to try out either this site's recommendations or Maria's yet, but there may well be some useful tips.
