View Full Version : Weld Floor Panel

I jacked my car up the other day and the jacking point gave way and almost went through the front drivers floor panel. The floor panel is bent and broken in the corner.
I know I need to prep and cut the rot out but does anyone know the make up of this area?

It looks like the floor panel is (or should I saw was!) attached to the sill and then sandwiched to the inner sill.

Has anyone any idea of how the floor panel is attached to the outer frame?

I can get a photo if it helps.

Cheers

A pic would help. I've had to plate this area before in my old van.

The jacking point attaches to both the floor and the sill from memory.

You may still be able to get the jacking point as an individual part, you used to be able to.

The damage goes from the top corner along the sill seam and in for at least three or four inches!

I will cut the rot and try to make a new jacking point, but its the fitting of the floor pan that will bother me.

looks like you just need a large 'L' section plate welded inside the car to the floor and the inner sill. Then a new jacking point welded on underneath.

A common rot point. I'll try and find the pics of my van which I repaired a similar problem with tonight.
