I assume this is a maestro.

The diesel already sits fairly high so why would you want it even higher? (The driveshafts will suffer).

The obvious thing it to stick some ledbury suspension and some 14 inch wheels with high profile tyres one as this is essentially that the ledburies are. Otherwise you'll need some custom springs making.

I too am curious as to why you would want to do this? What are you carrying around?

yep, its a maestro etv, i find the ground clearance crap at the front, and when out on white roads etc doing pr work for my car club, i find it btms out constantly.[only travelling slowly] good job its guarded etv:), also a stiffer set up will be better for towing the mini .i think.

I used to radio-marshal (local and national rallies) in a Montego 1.6, that grounded its sump regularly after rallies had been through (and sometimes even before the first course car went through!). Worth it though :D ...

In all seriousness, I know where you are coming from with the ground clearance issue.

Ahh yes I remember the car now.

Well the first step is to make sure you have the highest riding shocks to start with (there are several different lengths) - The diesels usually have the highest. Then If you can find some ledbury springs then these are the stiffest (even stiffer than the diesel's I believe). If you can't find these then you can get some custom springs made up to suit your needs. Getting springs made up isn't actually as expensive as you might think. I got quoted about £50 cash for some custom front ones for my van.

Where was this dan? My maestro is too low atm. I have coilovers I can use for the front to pick it up but need some springs for the rear. I was thinking off using some estate springs and cutting them down to the right height. Obviously some springs made for the job would be better.

This was the place that I used to powder coat my van wishbones etc. There main job is making springs, and they quoted me a daft price to make me a custom set for cash.

However other more mainstream places are available. Such as:

There are others though.

Check the condition of the shocks.

My MG Montego Turbo kept bottoming out, new set of shocks and it stopped the problem.
