What make of distributor is in my 1984 Maestro 1.3 HLE please ?
I had to replace yet another rotor arm today ,after having just done 100 odd miles on the old one
Thanks

It could a Lucas one or Ducellier one.
Take the rotor arm to your local motorfactors and ask them which type it is when they look up the new rotor arm in their parts book.

Like AustinRover says it could be either type but on a 1984MY it is more likely to be the early lucas type. To identify which type you have, the early lucas type has the ignition amplifier on the bulkhead near the coil, and the later type the lucas modular type has the ignition amplifier on the side of the distributor. The rotor arms are not interchangeable between the two types of distributor.
If the rotor arm has only lasted 100 miles it was either faulty or the distributor cap carbon brush or its spring is burned out or stuck in the cap. If the rotor arm is fouling the cap it is possible that the distributor bearings are badly worn.

Cheers!
It does have the ignition amplifier on the bulkhead near the coil, the coil however is a Ducellier item.

If yours has the igntion module remote from the distributor then you need rotor arm GRA 130, which is NLA from Rover, so its going to have to be a motorfactor you go to. I havent got the unipart number to hand at the moment
