Not 100% sure but have a feeling MGF trophy 160 front discs and 4 pots may fit

How much work are you willing to do yourself?

2 usual conversions

First is the PAW kit which uses original calipers, a spacer bracket and redrilled 280mm discs from a VW corrado G60. These fit under standard 15 inch alloys.

Second is the AP 4pot calipers and discs from a MGF trophy with the discs turned down to 300mm and then modify the mounting lug or make a bracket to fit them. You'll have to run bigger than 15 inch alloys to fit them under and get hoses made up to suit.

I've got the 1st on my turbo and my van and they are a good but visually subtle upgrade. The second work too but may be a bit of overkill.

I also have the Corrado G60 brakes on my MG Maestro Turbo with standard wheels. VW brakes are a simple upgrade because the originals are based on VW parts. I find them very effective.

Just my two penneth from what I've experienced - I don't find there to be anything wrong with the standard brakes on the 8v turbo. I engine brake smoothly (I can match the revs to gears virtually as if a fine art now) along with pressing the brake pedal and have to say I think it's only necessary to improve the system if your car has a lot more power than standard. (So T16 definitely). Granted, on the track and at triple figure speeds where permissible braking in stages (remove foot from brake, re-apply and so on) is probably the key to stop overheating of the brakes, but of course there isn't always choice in an emergency!
