I want to upgrade the front brakes on my Maestro Turbo for track day use. I run 15 X 6 rims. What are the biggest discs I can fit and what callipers are used. Any feedback on brake upgrades would be welcome including "one-of" conversion as I have access to a lathe and milling machine, etc.

I think I remember hearing that the brakes from a Golf may fit with some modification. I think Motobuild did the conversion but found it messed up the brake balance so they went back to the originals. There was a upgrade kit on e-bay a few weeks ago. If you do a search for completed items you might be in luck

IIRC motobuild used golf G60 disks on the BACK but retained the standard front size, you can make a vast improvment by using upgraded pads and discs of normal size at the front.
