Hi
I'm new to this masetro thing and I've got a bit of a steering wheel wobble when cruising at 75 - 80 mph. I've just had the wheels rebalanced and it hasn't made much of a difference. The other problem is a bit of brake judder when braking hard - is it the disks? and is it related to the other vibration?
Apart from these problems she's a great little car and I managed 55mpg coming back from Dorset last night.

Hi James,
Welcome to the forums!
I'm sure some others will be able to help you with the wobbling at speed problem - interestingly my car does the same at about 54 - 66 mph. I think it may be a misshapen/unbalanced rear wheel on my car because it was standing a long time befre I picked it up and this may have left a flat spot. The front tyres were replaced and balanced for MOT. Could you have the same problem?
The breaking issue is also something I've experienced before (on my other Maestro) - in my case replacing the discs and knackered pads solved it.
Good luck!
Simon R.
PS what Maestro have you got?

Simon
The maestro is a lovely white and iron oxide turbo D clubman.
BTW, who much should I be looking to pay for a set of pads and disks - Halfrauds are asking for £17 x 2 and £16.50 for the pads. Is this reasonable?

Try getting a quote from a motor factors first, I think I paid £14 for a PAIR of discs and £9 for the pads - both made by Brembo. (yours will be a bit more if theyre ventilated)

Thats well cheap! Paid £29 for vented Ferodo disc's for the Monty, and that was at a motor factors.

Thanks guys
I swapped the front and rear wheels - made a big difference. The front wheels are now smooth(er) and there is a bit of a wobble coming from the rear. I presume it was due to a flat spot on the tyres especially on the front due to the heavy engine, the seller did say it had been stood for 6 months late last year.
Does anyone know if it possible to cure flat spots eg swap it with the spare to allow it time to reform, run it at a higher / lower pressure or it it best just to bin it and get a new one?
