The Yorkshire Dales
This year, the M&MOC Great North Run returns to the Yorkshire Dales for a circular run of approx. sixty miles through the scenic Yorkshire Dales. A different route to when we last visited this area, this year we will take in Settle, Ribblehead, Ingleton, Dent and Sedbergh.
In a break with tradition (Hopefully this year only) there will be no pre-run camping the evening before.
The run will begin at 10.00 in Whitefriars Car Park and we will depart from there at 10.30. Everyone is welcome to attend in whatever car you like. Maestros and Montegos are not compulsory! Another change for this year is that in place of a pub lunch, we shall be stopping for lunch at a Picnic Area in Dent...so make sure you pack a good lunch for some al fresco dining.
If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this thread, send me a PM or contact me throught the details published in Monstro.

May I enquire why camping is suspended this year?
Credit Crunch day out??? :p
Is there no chance of camping as I'd love to come but it's a bit too much to do in one morning, especially a Sunday.
Stu.

The camping is off as I've not had the time to organise any.
If you want to camp, you'll have to sort some yourself I'm afraid!

Ahh right, I see...
Might have to have a look for campsites around the locality then... It'd be much nicer to find one up there and leave later in the morning refreshed, rather than turning up feeling like poop... :o

Now that I have no Maestro, Mike and I might have added a little something to the proceedings by attending in his new ride - but I'm afraid I'm elsewhere that weekend.... :(

Ben, there are one or two others who will be in attendance who don't have Internet access.
My apologies again for not having sorted any camping for you all, but it's been one of those years so far and a number of things fell by the wayside...this being one of them. If you manage to sort some for yourself Ben, that's great!.

Doubt I'll be attending as only have the one day off and other things sadly invade my time.

Thanks to everyone who turned up today. It was a cracking day out, even with the clouds and bits of drizzle. We didn't get wet, which is the main thing!
The run saw two red Montego Estates, a Montego Mayfair saloon, Maestro Tandy camper van, MG Maestro EFi, Maestro Clubman D and a Ledbury Maestro in attendance...a very mixed bag!

You're home already? I'm only at Stafford services - easily another 3 hours to go. Another 686 trouble free miles so far this weekend...

I think it was the first time in recent years we had an all Maestro/Montego run.
I had a bit of a post-run drive...
