Use Maestro loom, should plug straight in for ignition, rewire the fuel pump so it runs 12v all the time instead of 9v for the EFi. Use a manual choke and you wont have to worry about the fuel ECU side of things and wire temp sender direct to dash.
Track is not wider, driveshafts are the same length.

Don't forget to fit the fuel pressure regulator and plumbing (N/S inner wing) and also radiator, intercooler and exhaust system...

More problems :banghead:
Just had a good look at both cars it appears the loom's are differant none of the plugs are the same anywhereand theres a lot more to the turbo engine's loom.
I think I will just fibre fill the monty and give it a cheap respray, throw on the slicks and take it to the track to see if the engine is going to last before doing the change over.

Are both cars running "ERIC" ecu's or has the maestro got the lucas system.
ERIC is a silver box on the N/S/F turret, lucas has a black one and another box in the passanger footwell.

The monty has a silver metal ecu and a black plastic box next to it that are wired together, the maesty's got a black plastic ecu with fuel manegment system in the passenger footwell
The Montego is a G plate
The Maestro is a H plate

Personally I have never done the swap but someone maybe able to tell you what to do, it might even be possible to use the managment part of the loom from the turbo to run it in the maestro.

:) I have found a good man who is going to swap the whole engine and loom and fit the N.O.S kit very, very cheap (he spent 8 years as a BMW mechanic) so I will leave it in his good hands. The rest of the car will be scraped so anyone needing anything from it (MG Montego 2.0 turbo) contact me and I will post the bits.
