I've just bought a set of second hand alloy wheels, which are in generally good nick except for a few areas of very light corrosion.
Can I clean this off with wet n' dry paper and shoot a coat of laquer over the top? Can anyone share their alloy wheel refurbishing tips with me?

Providing the corrosion is not to bad you could give them a quick rub down and re-laquer etc. Depends on the finish you wish to achieve. Personally I would get them refurbed it's not that costly and it would save time and hassle.

At £25 a rim to get them repaired, dipped and striped painted and laqured and have the tyre refitted and ballanced I think it is worth considering.

If you search around on the Web you can find numerous companies that refurb in this kind of price range.
