Heavy clutch pedal!

Any advice on whats causing this. I did the clutch and pressure plate about september last year. Lately very heavy clutch. Any ideas please. Its a 1275cc A+ series 4 speed box

Hi, The most likely cause for a heavy clutch pedal on a 1.3 is the cable itself.
Fitting a new one is the only way to go as you would just be wasting your time trying to lubricate the old one.;)

may i jsut add that its not as scary as it sounds. better to do it now than when it snaps as you lose little clipss off the gearbox that you need. it takes about 15 minutes max.

Well I got my new clutch cable. Upon removing the old one I thought "well this slides OK seems as good as the old one " Well I thought G-Force has it wrong on this occassion, I know his diagnosis have been spot on in the past.
However I installed the new one. Much to my suprise it actually did cure the heavy clutch pedal. Thanks Gary! I don't know why its better as it appears to slide as easy as the old one. I guess I will never know why, the actual cable is sleeved in plastic so couldn't have been a rusted or frayed cable.
