hello,i have been told there was an austin/rover sumpguard available for maestro vans, or cars for that matter.
a/ is there such an item
b/ if so, has anyone got a pic of one
c/ has anyone got one to sell?

Unlikely Rare as hens teeth, but there were some reproductions done by a guy in Hull a while back.

There are actually 2 types which differ slightly. One for the derv van and one for the petrol 1.6 ones I think.

Having the same underpinning's as the montego,then,these could be made to fit them too??

Im seeing that there could be a fight here!!:idea: :D :D

yes I can't see why not. It bolts to the cross member and the rear subframe.

i take it the guard in the picture is the one i am after, at the risk of sounding an arse, is it an austin rover one and will it fit a maestro diesel saloon ? am new to maestros,trying to learn quickly,

Yes there is a pair of guards in that picture. One is brand new with the rover parts sticker still on it, the other is used and needs a paint I think.

I can't remember if they are the diesel or petrol ones I have (or even one of each), but if it is for the diesel then yes it'll fit. They are very very rare and aren't cheap.
They are also very heavy!

I'll have a bit of a clear out of my PM's.

Can you get me some sizes and measure ments of were the bends are rough angles etc I could make these .:idea:

Don't take offence, but it would take most of the day to get it out and put it back in just to measure it!

If you don't want to purchase one have a look on triple-m as someone on there made one rather than getting the OE one so they should already have the measurements.

No offence taken how much would one of them be as I need two of them. I would take dimensions of them and would reproduce them when requested as I can get my hands on steel and have acces to sheet metal work etc. Did not want to sound like a tight a:censored:se.:banghead:
