Hi,got a great bargain of e bay set of 4 white, spoked alloy wheels with nearly new goodyear tyres, and wheel nuts.Anyway went to fit but the centre hole seems to be a few mm smaller then the lip on the hubs.Have sanded around both edges to remove dirt, rust etc. They came of a Montego estate. And have put them on my saloon,I am not sure that they are on correctly as the car now drifts to the right when you take hands of steering.Have had tracking checked and adjusted but is still drifting. I am of to London for a few days with work so wont be able to do anything to the car till the weekend.Anyone come across this problem before .The wheels are 195/15.Was going to grind a small amount of each wheel but not sure if that would be safe.Using my camper to go to London.

I have more or less the same problem with my silver Montego alloys that I bought new from ebay as a set of 5. The centre holes areas tight as anything over the centres of the hubs, you might have found that your wandering is caused by the wheels not being on the hub face properly, hence they are wonky.

They are an aftermarket part and not a main dealer part.
Make sure you get the correct PDC.

Can 't see the need for spacers if the PCD is the same and they came off a Monty originally. Yes the alloy wheels can sometimes be a tight fit over the hub centre but this is mainly due to gunk and rust around it, a quick clean up with a wire brush and some emery cloth, followed by a coating of copper grease will prevent the problem and stop the wheel corroding to the hub (happens more than you think!)

My hubs have been treated to the above and the wheels are still ever so tight over the hub centre. It is vital to use copper grease on the mating faces of hub/light alloy wheel on any car or bi-metallic corrosion will mean that the wheel will be very difficult to remove.
At easter I'm renewing every single suspension/brake component on my car in favour of brand new components. Hope the wheels will be easier to get on then?
