diesel turbo can you?

hello, just aquired a "91 diesel maestro, is it possible to fit the turbo from the later model or are the engine compressions different? thankyou

It is possible to fit the turbo to a non turbo diesel model however as you say the compression ratios are different and there are a few other engine differences aswell. It is easier in this case to swap the engine for a turbo diesel one as a whole as it is a straight swap other than fitting the specific downpipe which you'll need to do in any case.
