I have just replaced the engine in my turbo van. The first problem has been The replace ment has obviously been an early montego turbo engine the oil pump is a diferent construction to the outher engine in the van, the oil pump is at the front of the engine and slung under the botom pulley. Also has shalower groves in the pulleys for the timining belt also only has one oil feed from the oil pump for the turbo but no oil presure switch. I know that this would cut out the fule pump but would it cut out the spark from the coil to as I have no spark at the coil. I suspect this could be a dodgey crank sensor but did they change the fly wheel at all I am new to maestros/Montego turbo's so can any one help?:banghead:
