Hello every boddy I have been on here a while now but have not properly introduced my self. I have allways been into BL cars and started off with a mini at 14. I also used to have a maestro van around this time. My dad boght two ex council vans of a freind of his. Done up the diesel to sell and let me drive around the yard in the petrol 1275 A+ one which he decided not to repair. I used it four weeks of my six week holiday from school and then used it every weekend for about another two months. I was devistated the day my dad sold the Tyers and scraped it. Now at 23 I have had five maestro vans throgh my hands two have been for spares. Rust and seam rot had took it's toll on them. the other one wich gave me two years loyal service and died of the same death. But it's spares are now going to keep my two new ones alive. Just over a month ago I bought my freinds turbo converted van off him for £200 when he was skint with loads of t&t. I knew it was not going to last two long as I had just fitted a replacment head and head gasget Timing belt after it had been cooked about 8 weeks before I bought it. I knew when I got her it was rather tiered it was not as quik as what it used to be. After a bit of hard driving the oil light was startin to flicker so I took it off the road and was going to perkins turbo diesel it and use it as a works van. Had no luck with finding a donor car for an engine but I did find another maestro van well it found me some scrap men had got it. It was far to good to be scraped as it had two months tax and it's mot'd until november. The best bit about it is it is a one former owner van with 71k on the clock and is now my new works van for £220. So the turbo one is geting another monty turbo engine which I have sourced as well as a 620 turbo PG1 gear box for the limeted slip diff. I realy enjoy this fourum and it is good to know that ther is so many people who like maestro' and monty's out ther as they are such an underated car's.

Thanks Tezza I have not mentioned I run my own bussines restoring classic mini's I am hopefully have the turbo van back together tomorow as I decided to go to work today get the gear box seperated from one of my spare T16 units I have lying around the monty turbo engine I aquierd last year so I am going to use it all my freinds say I should T16 it but it is stopping an O serise for as long as this engine lasts. The old engine and box were also removed today. Advice never comes in wrong as I dont know to much on the O serise and perkins but at least it is nuts and bolts and not to many electrics to get in the way.
