Yes, you certainly are. Just ask to be directed to the M&MOC stand.
C191JOE
15th July 2009, 13:56
There's a website for the rally at
www.bmcblrally.co.uk
and an application form.
You can pay at the 'gate': just means waiting three or four minutes longer and it's a quid or two more expensive than pre-booking. But hey it's hardly expensive!

Yes camping is allowed,im taking the caravan on the back of the countryman, and staying overnight on saturday. but you are not allowed on field till after 4pm that day.show is on sunday.
It is £3 to get in,£5 for camping, and £25 for a pitch to sell spares,if im 100% correct.:)
CPL593H
21st July 2009, 12:24
have you pre-booked camping?
malpas820@hotmail.co
21st July 2009, 12:59
No i havent personally, but theres plenty of room, the field is massive.
Unless your told to now,i think it may be a little late at this stage,to get pre-booked passes back in time.
You should have no problems on the day...;)
E_T_V
21st July 2009, 13:50
I'd ring and ask them as camping is usually very popular and the camping section of the field is very small (you aren't allowed/supposed to camp on the show part of the field apparently).
Beaker
21st July 2009, 13:56
Yes the forms say camping has to be pre-booked. Not too late to book still a couple of weeks away.
MG Maestro Van
21st July 2009, 23:10
If I get the MG van sorted I will try and get too this. It is looking well tatty at the moment but if I can get a weeks worth of testing or so prior to the journey to test the mechanical stuff that matters for now but needs a paint and pumped full of waxoil before the winter takes it's toll :banghead: dam rust damed with it damed with out it lol I do restore mini's for a living lol:D

Austin-Rover
26th July 2009, 21:28
Generally, we don't know numbers for the Club stand at BL day. This is because you all sort your own tickets, rather than say at smaller shows where I have to secure numbers beforehand and buy the tickets for you.
The good news is that in recent years we have topped over 50 Maestros and Montegos on the Club stand throughout the day.

Is this place hard to find? as I am traveling down from nottingham that morning and I've never ben here before..
Austin-Rover
27th July 2009, 17:48
It is an easy venue to find. Leave the A1 at the junction for the A1139. Follow signs for A1139 and City Centre, then look for and follow the brown Tourist Info. signs for Nene Park, or signs featuring the Country Park symbol.
The venue itself is Ferry Meadows, within Nene Park, and I think it is signposted as such on the Oundle Road, which is the entrance you need to aim for.
Generally, if you arrive at around the right time, follow the assorted BL tat that will be clogging the roads in the area.

The one drawback to BL Day is I always end up getting sunburned. Normally ghosts have more colour than I do, but yesterday has left me looking like Rudolf the Red Nosed Tomato on his first day of painting the fire engine.
It was lovely to put names to faces - Mal, Andy (Tesco bangers) if you're reading, Jon, Ray, and Alexander (Sorry if I've missed out any other members; I talked to so many people I've lost track of who i know from which board!), and I think that of the 3 years i've done BL Day (07, 08, and 09) this one was the best.

Bugger. I tried coding those to bring the full size one up if you clicked on the thumbnail. It's worked on AR but somehow copying and pasting the same code here hasn't worked... Short of pasting full sized pics and giving 56k users heart attacks I can't see a way round it - so if you do click the pics, please remove the 'th_' from the middle of the url to bring a full sized version up...

Dan, are you sure? they're fine here - in fact, I made them 5 pics to a line because they WOULD fit on the screen...
Tell me how many pics show before it goes off the edge, and I'll edit it to that width.
Ooh now malpas has broke it (wider picture) yours have reappeared. I could see 4.5 pics earlier. Now I can see all 5 but malpas's post disappears off of the end now!

Thanks, I enjoyed our talk too.
I think the picket line was a good theme: with the Allegro born into an era of industrial unrest.

I think we had 18 cars and vans in total which was well down on a couple of years ago (when crazy numbers would turn up - did Saturday's rain put some of you off?), but it worked nicely in the space we had and I thought possibly this club's best display yet, visually. Thanks to all involved in that, and for bringing some interesting cars along.
Keep the pictures coming - I'll put a review on the main site if/when I get time. For those who missed out, a fairly standard set from me here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jpsellars/sets/72157621936137312/) - and sorry Russ for '032 & '033, you left me no choice!
Even 'CHO enjoyed good company at the hotel car park the previous night:

Forgot to add ,i was disappointed with the monty turn out! :(
Did i count 5-7 montys at most?? only mine being the only estate there (apart from the one in the car park area) and jeff's/son gsi and efi on the actual stand!!
David (tlc) didnt bring his, jeff couldnt bring the turbo(and should),and i couldnt bring my turbo as i didnt have any more drivers available (plus its broke, again):banghead: :D :D
Need more there next year, from the monty owners, but the maestro, and metro turnout was great,i thought!!

Great show as always. And yes, the MMOC stand looks much nicer if not running the traditional 'traffic jam'-theme. I am usually not taken by Montego Saloons, but a certain GSi.... I think I am not the only one who had thoughts about quietly letting this one slip into a pocket ;)
As I needed to drive an estate this year, neither my Maestro nor my usual BL tat was showing this year - just a slightly battered 416 Tourer (on the 200&400 OC stand). If I would have had the choice, I would have taken my father's Rover 2.0 GTD (aka Montego to you lot) and put it on the stand for you to admire the Rover badges on it ;) But this is currently enjoying the sun in southern France. So the 416 had to do, but delivering 44-45mpg and having A/C (to dry us on saturday and cool us on Sunday) wasn't too bad...

Alexander

Not a problem, I mean it. I still stand by what I said when I saw the first pics; if you ever decide you want to sell it - not that you will - please tell me.
I did want to come over and talk to you about it on the day; express my jealousy in person so to speak. Sadly, I've not met you before and you weren't by the car - and you left as I was chatting to Jon Sellars (Jeans, grey shirt and a dark jacket, sunglasses if you saw me) so I didn't get an opportunity. Maybe next year.

Would've loved to, but I didn't know what you looked like til it was too late...
That's really the problem with online enthusiast forums - you don't know what half the people you know look like. Perhaps a pic thread would be a good idea - or for us all to wear name badges at these events?
