7 pins ?

Hello all
I have a 1.3 Maestro with fire damage and Im need to find out how to wire the distributor ignition amplifier 7 pin type ?. I have found it in the haynes manual but it dont give me the pin numbers that the wires go to. This is a big problem as I need to rewire the new multiplug that fits to the amp ! ie I know what wires go to it, but to what pins ?. I hope you can help me as I have searched the net for over a week :banghead: with no joy.

I can't help directly but you would probably have more luck finding the bits you need in a scrap yard and swapping them over.

can you give some more info as to the exact model, age etc? I dont know of a 7 pin set up for the ignition amp, where are the damaged cables??

By igntion amp do you mean the black box strapped to thge bottom of the distributer? If so I think only 2 or 3 wires are actually used. There was someone else not to long ago wanting to re-wire this connector too for use in an offroad trials car. I think it might be worth searching for it as a good explanation was given there.

I must say thanks for your time and fast reply,
Ok I hope this works :rolleyes: Its a 7 pin box that is attached to the bulkhead with the coil, the dizzy is a Lucas 59dm4 (2 wires).
The wires from this box to the dizzy and coil had to be cut out becuse of the fire :( I did think "its ok becuse I have a Haynes manual":rage:
