Hi there. Just thought I'd let you know I'm back and "foruming" again!
It's been a bit up in the air for me recently as I have just landed a job at the local car storage compound. Lots of brand spanky new Rovers and MGs to drive around! Wahey!
BTW Jonathan, If you are after a 75, I could definately recommend one. (For everyday driving, of course!)

Ah, wondered why all was quiet. ;) :D

Sounds like a good job you have there - what is the Rover 75 like to drive?

Welcome back ATV, you've been missed!

I looked at 75s but beautiful as they look and drive you're still not getting that much for your money, I'm sure that will begin to change soon. I needed something urgently, so I ended up with this 825...

Photographed at Goodwood (horse) Race Course?

Most of the ones I have driven were a bit strange, but that was because they were left-hand-drive export versions! I have even driven a black MG ZR VAN! Brilliant!:D

I got to drive an MG ZS 190 today. Mmm, nice V6 growl! If only I could get one of those engines for my van, I'd be well away!

Please tell me its a diesel & not a KV6 Jonathan :horror: Originally posted by D428CHO

Hopefully there is evidence of Rover having recalled the car if its a KV6 as they are notorious for have HG failure, many were upgraded FOC but you never know.... Its a sweet engine when its A1 but if it goes... it will be mega bucks to fix!

No it's not a diesel, it is a KV6. I was aware of their reputation for head gasket failures but it's so smooth, quiet and effortless on the motorway compared to the T16 version. 70mph cruising at well below 3000rpm :)

I couldn't believe how much quieter the Honda 2.7 is at idle though, trouble was I wanted something as late as possible.

Best of British to you then, I hope it doesnt cause you any problems (If it goes *pop* I will happily advise on converting to 2.7... done a brace of 2.0 - 2.7 conversions on R800s already...silly me!):banghead:

Hey, I like the cut of this guy's jib!:D
Anyway, I was driving an MGF, oh hang on, that's not right, an MGTF today. It was a left-hand-drive one, so that was a bit of a challenge! It was quite a while before the crew bus arrived to pick me up from where I parked up, so I thought I would have a look around the interior. I couldn't beleive it when I found it had a Maestro/Montego glove box door!
I'm going to look for more similarities from now on!:D

Take a close look at the boot interior lights, the last one I saw had an austin badge embossed in it still! :D

The MG TF also has the Maestro electric wing mirror control, the same Cig lighter and those infamous side repeaters...a parts bin car if ever there was one...

Interesting.... Can you remember what the back of it was like - I'm wondering it it had the standard cassette storage racks because I've taken the cassette deck out of F153 and would mush prefer either MD CD or nothing instead.

Come to that can you remember if the TF had a tapedeck?

PS ATV, can we swap jobs for a few weeks please...?!

How easy would a "O" to 2.7 conversion be?

So does my Espace which also has the same movement unit within the wing mirror housing! If I am correct the electric window hardware is actully made by Ford!

  Okay then!
The back of the door was the one with the tape rack. Come to think of it, I got one from a Monty turbo in a salvage yard for my van which had a couple of cup trays on the back with a seperate tape rack and mirror(!) As for a tape deck, most of the MGs (TFs and ZRs) are not fitted with any head units while in storage. Customer's option I reckon. In fact I drove a ZT estate today (another LHD job) that had a TV in the dash! I want one!:D

No chance of taking a digi-cam along with you one day and snapping all these wonderful cars for us?

Last time I sat in one at the Chester dealership I noticed it had BL Jaguar/Daimler Series III chrome ashtrays .

I had a look in the boot of one today. Still has those Austin badged lights in them!
As for taking piccies, I'm not sure how the company rules stand on that. Mind you, I could do with a digi camera.;)

Yes, the mirror control is like the Maestie/Monty items, come to think of it. Most of the Rover 25-based cars have them as well.
