I am trying to remove the front bumper, the one piece one, inspection through the indicator housing seems to tell me that i have to remove the inner splash guard first would this be true? If not how do you get at the bolt and what size is the bolt.
.
I’m still getting run on when I switch off, but its only intermittent, this leads me to think that I could have a hot spot on one of the piston tops. My theory is that if that piston is at TDC when I s/w off, the engine will run on, if its at BDC it won’t ! I suppose the only way to check is to remove the cylinder head.

I note from the haynes that one needs a special spanner to remove the carb, would it be ok to undo hopefully the manifold nuts a lift the card to one side??

Frank in Peterborough.

p.s. I’m building up quite a nice owners manual by printing out the very useful tips from the postings

front bumper = 4 bolts, 2 on each mounting bar. The fastenings at the sides just pull free, if you remove the 4 bolts first then heave the whole bumper forwards.

The mounting bolts are inside the engine bay on the side of the chassis leg, the passanger side ones being difficult to get to.

IIRC the nut size is 13mm.
