Are Panels Welded?

Seems a daft question but are the rear panels on a Maesrto spot welded.
I have a spare car and want to take all the panels off for spares. It looks like the rear end has something like DumDum on it but I can not see a weld.
The inner wheel arch panel and the lower panel and the cross member spare wheel panel (Guess who has a legacy epc disc!!!) look as though they are glued and not welded. Am I seeing things wrong or do I have a sinister vehicle??

Everything is spot welded. There is the odd bit of mig welding in places though.

Not even Austin Rover's workmanship was shoddy enough for them to glue bits of the car together. Mind you when you see the state of some of the welds (e.g.: inner->outer rear wheelarches), they would perhaps have been better off gluing it.
