I just bought a NASP Rover 820 as an engine donor for my MG Monty, won the auction on ebay for 6 pence (thats right 6p :D )
That has pretty much forced my hand & also saved me a fortune because I can use the original radiator (its brand new:) ) & I will not have all the heat issues associated with having a turbo under the bonnet... need an M16 (no lambda sensor) exhaust manifold now so it looks right & to cobble up an exhaust system, mustnt forget a 220 sump :nonono: .
A lot of work for a modest power gain (20+ bhp) but its the cheapest power upgrade in history
Off to Northampton tomorrow to collect it.

Just out of curiousity why do you need to remove the Lambda sensor??? Are you installing the Lucas system or carbs??

Do you mean you paid 6pence?

Yes that is correct, someone had put the opening bid on (started at 1p) so I put more on it just before it finished & won the item for 6 pence !!!!!!!
I could not get hold of the towing dolly that I use on the day it had to be removed so I missed the car, it got scrapped but I still got good feedback because as soon as I found out I couldnt get there in time I let the seller know.
I have the dolly on the Laguna towball at the moment because I am going to collect the diesel Monty that 'Montyboy' (Ed) has being trying to re-home first thing in the morning

Going further off topic, is that Holmes Chapel viaduct in the background of the first picture? Location seems familiar.

Yes it is, quite an impressive landmark too.
I took my eldest daughter with me & it was the first time she had seen Jodrell Bank too (got some great pics but due to re-formatting the H/D when it went plop we lost them all)

Thankyou :)
That is actually the country retreat, when we are in the city (Lincoln) our abode is more modest ;)

I have just uploaded a few pics of the diesel Monty I collected today (thanks Ed...Montyboy).
Unfortunately the first couple of pics are blurred (I dropped the camera before taking the pictures & it was in a bad mood :rage: )
This one is going to be pressed into daily service as soon as possible & it has an absolute peach of an engine, starts immediately, doesnt breathe, sounds like a Sherpa van  , the interior looks new but the headlining has sagged...still intact... so I need to find a glue to hold that up without marking the fabric.
The front bumper will have to be replaced along with the passenger side front wing (rotten near the rear lower mounting) & the drivers door (doorskin flapping quietly!) but apart from that it needs a set of tyres & a power steering pipe.
Take a look at http://www.soduhall.co.uk

how did u make your on site with your own address does it cost how do u make it just woudering?????

The domain cost about £30 for 2 years which includes free email hosting & a 3 page 500Mb website (can be upgraded, which I shall be doing once the restoration of both the Montego's gets under way & each car will be getting a fair amount of webspace devoted to it).
If you want to register your own domain (you chose the name & decide if you want it to end .co.uk or .com etc)you can register it at www.ukreg.com & have your own site through fasthosts, some people criticise fasthosts but I dont have a problem with them & the email servers are considerably faster than my ntlworld email servers.
