Has anybody had experience of running a Turbo Diesel on 95/5 biodiesel?
I have just filled up on 95/5 (95% mineral and 5% vegetable) and it seems quieter, but this is so subjective it is easy to kid one's self.
Rix's website says their fuel is suitable for all vehicles, so it should be O.K. but there is nothing like a long term test.
My Montego is a "K" so it has the 2 stage injectors, but not the exhaust gas recirculation system.

You can make it yourself by mixing sunflour oil etc with diesel. I think you can go up to 20% veggie oil.
I know many people that do this, but if a copper smells chip-fat from your exhaust you might find yourself chatting to customs&excise ;)
You can treat the veggie oil (with lye i think) and use it neat.

There have been a few television motoring programmes that have covered the use of vegetable oil, but these tended to focus on individuals using 100% vegetable oil. I think the cars were generally not direct injection, so the injection pumps ran at lower pressures, and were maybe at bit more tolerant.
The 95/5 is manufactured by Rix, and unfortunately is not cheaper than normal, so people generally use it for environment reasons. Rix's website is worth a visit, and gives details of filling stations.
As for making your own, it is illegal to use fuel which has not had duty paid on it ( Customs and Excise have great powers ) and the risk to the injection pump is too great.
Apparently in France lots of diesel is 95/5, so maybe I should follow this idea and do a web search.

There is nothing to stop you making your own fuel and paying duty, just make sure that your records are correct and you pay ALL the duty you should.
