Continuing the general theme for the summer of 2007, this years run began on a rather damp note, and ended on one too even beating Betwys-y-Coed in 2006 for extreme precipitation. Our tour of the North Yorkshire Moors began at Scarborough, continuing to Robin's Bay, a quaint coastal town on a hill.
Our planned lunch stop in Whitby was thwarted by parking problems, the wet weather apparently not having any effect on the local tourist industry. Our journey continued via the A169 with its beautiful moorland scenery and fast, gentle curves to Goathland familiar to fans of the TV series Heartbeat. The small convoy finished its journey at Pickering via an old logger's road, which made for a challenging drive under the conditions.
Furthest travelled this year were Bobbi and "Doris", the well-travelled gold Maestro Automatic (from Dorset!). Cars in attendance were four Montegos, two Maestros and Jonathan's Rover 75.
