11th BMC & BL Annual Rally, Nene Park, Peterborough
SUNDAY 1ST AUGUST 2004
As usual on the first weekend in August BMC and British Leyland enthusiasts from all over the country (and outside it too, for that matter) polished up their pride and joy and headed for the East Midlands. Regular show attendees are no strangers to Peterborough now with this being our national event every year, but a few still managed to get very lost amidst some of the poor and confusing signing for Nene Park.
This event has a reputation for excellent weather and 2004 was no exception, in fact it was one of about five 'nice' days of the summer. The Maestro & Montego Owners Club display played host to almost 30 cars of all flavours. Even Secretary Jon's MG Maestro passed the MOT the previous day and made a timely return to the road after a year laying idle.
The autojumble didn't disappoint either, several members noted returning to the stand with large chunks of car under their arms!
